Students in animal science are learning about animal housing facilities. Today they learned about biosecurity and started a lab to see the risk levels of pathogens and how producers can reduce the spread of them. They will watch their bacteria grow over five days make observations!

Author Peg Sundberg, also known as Cowgirl Peg, visited Summerland Elementary today. Peg talked about her animals, the process of writing books, and shared some of her stories with the students. It was a fun day. 🤠
Parents--if you ordered copies of Cowgirl Peg's books, she was out of some titles. I will be sending receipts home tomorrow, and the missing titles will be shipped to the school in the next two weeks. Please contact Mrs. Whiting with any questions on orders.

Congratulations to Oliver Waldow on being today's Bobcat Catch of the Day! Oliver is nominated for being kind and respectful. At a volleyball game, when someone from another town dropped popcorn, Oliver jumped up and helped clean it up!

Preslee is kind and respectful with both her words and her actions. She is helpful in the classroom and also with her younger siblings. When Preslee speaks, she only ever has nice things to say!
Just a reminder that Muffins with Misses forms are DUE TOMORROW (Tuesday, Oct 29th). We will not be accepting late forms as we need to let the kitchen know how many to plan for. If you would happen to forget, we still want you to come, but know that there might not be enough muffins for you. ALL students will be marked for muffins!
