Kindergarten used their graphing skills to conduct a lemonade taste test throughout the whole school to determine which lemonade was the preferred kind! Pink was the overall winner!

"Best days EVER"! Say the kindergarten students over the last couple of days! We put all our reading skills, that we learned all year long, to use Monday morning! We ventured on a summer scavenger hunt and completed several clues to find a fun prize! Sodas and Sunglasses!

Your child will be bringing home a Manilla Envelope today!! Please be on the look-out for it. In it, you will find the Summerland Summer Reading Challenge Packet, STAR Reading Scores, 2nd on up will have STAR Math Scores, Acadience Scores as well as the NE Reads Letter! At Monday Morning Motivation, the Clearwater and Orchard Libraries talked to the students about their Summer Reading Programs they will offer! We also talked about the importance of reading this summer so the dreaded SUMMER SLIDE doesn't happen.

Hey Everyone! We have a special guest coming to Summerland to talk all things related to instilling and keeping a winning tradition when it comes to sports and life! John Miller who coached at Chambers, Southern Valley and now at Stuart is the winningest High School Basketball Coach in Nebraska history with over 800 victories. He led the Chambers Girls Basketball team to five state titles and four runner up trophies. Also at Chambers, Coach Miller led the Football to a Championship in 2007! At Southern Valley, his team captured the Class C2 State Championship in 2014. While at Stuart, Coach Miller led the Boys Basketball to State in 2025! Coach Miller was inducted into the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2017 and is a Finalist for the National Coach of the Year! It will be a very up close and personal talk with students, coaches, teachers and patrons on how to instill a winning tradition in sports and life and what might hold us back! It will take place in the main gym starting at 2:15 on May 20th. Patrons are invited! A Huge Thank - You to the Booster Club for making this happen!!!
