Summerland Elementary would like to send a huge thank you to Pastor Mark Hoffman and members of the Ewing Full Gospel Church for their generous donation of backpacks full of school supplies to each of our classroom teachers plus extra supplies to help throughout the year! Also, they have set up an Adopt A Teacher program so that our classroom teachers can get items and even prayers throughout this school year! What an awesome way to start our school year!

Dear Bobcat Nation,
I am delighted to introduce myself and express my enthusiasm for joining the Summerland Public Schools family. As your new Superintendent, I am committed to ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education and enriching experiences. Our dedicated staff is united in this mission, and we recognize the invaluable role that parents and families play in preparing our students for success both now and in the future. As the African proverb wisely states, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and I firmly believe in the power of our collective effort. Together, we can Educate, Engage, and Empower Every Child, Every Day.
My educational journey began in Osmond, NE, where I grew up on a dairy farm as one of seven children and graduated from Osmond Community Schools. I earned my undergraduate degree from UNK and spent 15 years teaching and coaching in Valentine, NE. My subsequent 14 years at ESU 8 provided me with a wealth of experience, equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as an effective Superintendent.
On a personal note, my daughter and her husband, along with my two grandsons, live on a farm in Stuart, IA, where they raise registered shorthorn cattle. Being a grandmother is a role I cherish above all others. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, baking, outdoor activities, and exploring new destinations.
I eagerly anticipate the upcoming school year and the opportunity to get to know the students, families, and communities that make Summerland Public Schools such a wonderful place.
Warmest regards,
Molly Aschoff

Did you know you are able to download/add the school calendar to your own calendar on your phone?
1. On your phone, search this web address in your phone safari or chrome https://www.summerlandbobcats.org/events?view=cal-month
2. Click on the "Download" button to the right of where it says "Events". The icon looks like a downward arrow.
3. It should ask you which calendar you want to add it to. This can be done on both microsoft and google calendars.
If you are using google calendar you could subscribe to the calendar by adding info@summeralndbobcats.org.

Road Construction Update: The intersection at the school is still closed. The county will begin working on the road 1 mile north of the school between 858th road and 859th road on Monday, August 5th. Plan accordingly as you will probably not be able to drive through it during the day while they are working on it.

Dear Summerland Parents and Stakeholders, We have recently been made aware of a scam involving fraudulent requests for donations on behalf of our football or volleyball team. There could be other scams involving other school activities groups as well. Please note that our school does not solicit donations in this manner. If you receive any such requests, do not respond or provide any personal information. Please report any suspicious messages to us directly at the school office. Thank you for your attention and support.

Attention facility key card holders: This is a reminder that all key cards will be disabled 11:59pm on 7/31. To renew your access (8/1/24 to 7/31/25), a new $50 payment needs to be given to the school office for the year. If you do not plan to renew your membership, please return your key card.

The Summerland FFA chapter has apparel available for anyone to order who would like to represent the FFA chapter! This is not a fundraiser, we would just like to give our supporters the chance to order some gear!
The online store will close on Wednesday, August 14th. Orders will come to the school and be delivered from there!
