GO BIG RED — Just a reminder to everyone who donated blood on Tuesday to REGISTER your donation on the BIG TEN CHALLENGE ‘We Give Blood Drive’ website linked below.
Abbott and the Big Ten Conference are pitting school against school in the largest blood donation competition of our lifetime to fight the largest blood shortage in a generation.
The Cornhuskers are in FIRST PLACE and let’s keep it that way. Every donation scores one point for the University of Nebraska on the leaderboard. The competition ends December 6.
The winning school will receive $1 MILLION to advance student or community health.

I would like to express my thanks to the Summerland community for making our blood drive a success. We were able to collect 67 units with a goal of 57. We had 15 student donors, several staff members, and of course our community was there to help us reach our goal. 14 elementary students turned in forms for Future Blood Donors for a prize from the Red Cross and classroom 6A had the most forms returned so they will be treated to an ice cream party. Thanks to Three and Company Baking for the cookies and Levi for help with table and chairs. Thanks to Nancy and Lynae for helping sign up donors.

We want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to our substitute teachers for their invaluable contributions to our school community. Your flexibility, dedication, and ability to step in when needed make a significant difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for bringing your unique skills and energy to our classrooms. You help ensure that learning continues seamlessly, and your positive impact is felt by both students and staff. We appreciate you and all that you do!
