Dear Bobcat Nation,
I am delighted to introduce myself and express my enthusiasm for joining the Summerland Public Schools family. As your new Superintendent, I am committed to ensuring that our students receive the highest quality education and enriching experiences. Our dedicated staff is united in this mission, and we recognize the invaluable role that parents and families play in preparing our students for success both now and in the future. As the African proverb wisely states, “It takes a village to raise a child,” and I firmly believe in the power of our collective effort. Together, we can Educate, Engage, and Empower Every Child, Every Day.
My educational journey began in Osmond, NE, where I grew up on a dairy farm as one of seven children and graduated from Osmond Community Schools. I earned my undergraduate degree from UNK and spent 15 years teaching and coaching in Valentine, NE. My subsequent 14 years at ESU 8 provided me with a wealth of experience, equipping me with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as an effective Superintendent.
On a personal note, my daughter and her husband, along with my two grandsons, live on a farm in Stuart, IA, where they raise registered shorthorn cattle. Being a grandmother is a role I cherish above all others. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, baking, outdoor activities, and exploring new destinations.
I eagerly anticipate the upcoming school year and the opportunity to get to know the students, families, and communities that make Summerland Public Schools such a wonderful place.
Warmest regards,
Molly Aschoff
